AMA Miss: Alicia Keys…

In Alicia Keys, celebrity, makeup, red carpet on November 23, 2009 at 7:10 pm

I’m just not a fan of matching your makeup to your clothes.  Blue shadow, pink lips to match the hues in her dress?  Me no likey.  I think she should’ve lost the eyeshadow, kept the lip color and had her hair in a nice sleek bun would’ve complemented the dress better.

Thoughts?

Dontcha just love Fergie’s darker hair?  Nothing much to her makeup, peachy cheecks and lips and a very subtle smokey eye.

AMAs Beauty: Rihanna…

In celebrity, eye makeup, makeup, red carpet, rihanna on November 23, 2009 at 3:28 pm
Last night Rihanna hit up the AMAs with some FIERCE eyemakeup.  The focus was all on her eyes while the rest of her face was simple.   She rocked what looks like a reddish shadow smudged on the top and lower lash lines, black winged eyeliner and web-like lashes.  Her lips were a nude color while her cheeks appeared to be lightly buffed with a rosey blush.  I’m assuming her regular makeup artist Mylah Morales created this fabulousness…LUVs it!
Would you rock colored eyeliner/shadow?

Demi’s Hips Don’t Lie…

In celebrity, Demi Moore, magazines, photoshoots on November 20, 2009 at 8:24 pm

So D. Moore was a little P.O.’d with rumors swirling around that her hips were photoshoped on December’s W cover and hit twitter to set the record straight…

And she tweets…

Here is the original image people my hips were not touched don’t let these people bulls*** you!

I mean really Demi, who cares?  I’m upset you even responded to this foolery, let ’em hate!  But since everyone wants to chime in I’ll give my two cents…I actually think you would look better with a little, dare I say, more hip.

My 3 Uses for Vaseline…

In eye cream, eyelashes, eyeshadow, vaseline on November 20, 2009 at 7:30 pm
It’s funny how we spend so much money on beauty products when we have the simple, cheap stuff at our disposal.  Although I can’t help making those luxe purchases, I still resort to old faithful…

…good ole’ Vaseline Petroleum Jelly.

Here are my 3 uses for the little old jar:

1.  Eyelash moisturizer – a friend of mine told me years ago that a MAC makeup artist let her in on a little secret for lush lashes.  Every night, dab a little of the jelly on your pointer finger and thumb and rub your eyelashes with it.  Wash off the next morning.

2.  Eye cream – Now you can do this one of two ways.  You can either apply after cleansing to damp skin or apply your favorite eye cream, and before the area dries, dab on some vaseline as a “sealant”, which will help lock-in that eye cream.

3.  Eyeshadow – well not exactly a “shadow” but I couldnt think of another word.  If you’re like me, you don’t wear a face full of makeup daily.  After my “musts” :   mineral foundation, a little gloss and some lash stiletto, I dab a little vaseline on my eye lids to give it a little sheen.  It instantly gives an awake look, which is great because the Golden Girls keep me up at all hours of the night.

And there you have it, my fav 3 uses for Vasline.  There are tons more ways you can use this stuff.  What are some of your uses?

Power by Fifty Cent…

In celebrity, fragrance, men on November 5, 2009 at 3:07 pm

Today, 50 cent’s new fragrance launches exclusively at Macy’s stores nationwide.

What it is:  Strong, masculine and powerful, the scent is composed of a tonic freshness built with green citrus fruity notes juxtaposed against a musky, woody background. Top notes consisting of lemon leaves, black pepper and Artemisia are followed by a heart of dark woods, coriander and nutmeg with a drydown of patchouli, musk and oak moss. Developed by fragrance house Firmenich, the scent evokes both the grittiness of 50 Cent’s origins and the heady rush that accompanied his rise to power.

Power by fifty cent is captured in a bold, dark bottle created by the design firm, Maesa. The bottle is capped with an imposing top rimmed with pillars, reinterpreting a timeless sign of power for a modern age. Grommets and metal hardware evoke the strength and permanence of the fragrance enclosed within, making a powerful statement

“For me, power isn’t just something you learn on the street or in the boardroom—it’s a way of life,” explains 50 Cent. “I really wanted to bottle up the rush it gives you so my fans can make it a part of their lifestyle.”

In honor of the launch, 50 Cent will be making appearances at five select Macy’s, starting in New York City’s Macy’s Herald Square. Consumers will have the chance to meet and take a picture with 50 Cent and be the first to purchase the new fragrance.

Below is the schedule of his appearances:
