Get The Look: Kim Kardashian at CEW Awards…

In get the look, kim kardashian, makeup on May 25, 2010 at 1:00 pm

Kim K attended the Cosmetic Executive Women Beauty Awards at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in NYC on Friday.  Read on to find out how longtime makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic achieved her look…

FACE
On her skin I applied Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation blended with a bit of moisturizer, and used LaMer concealer under her eyes. I then set her face with Shu Uemura loose powder.
For a subtle glow, I sweep EYE M GLAM highlighter by Giella Cosmetics onto the cheekbones, bridge of nose and cupids bow, and applied Hot Mama blush by The Balm.
EYES
For her eyes I swept EYE M GLAM highlighter on her lids and on the inner corners of eyes to brighten and open up the eyes, and used a touch right on the brow bone too. I also filled her brows with MAC Brow Pencil in Linering, and lined the top lids with Lancome’s Art Liner extending it out and up past the eye.
I then applied Sephora Collection Flashy Liner in Flashy Brown on the inner rim of her eyes and smudged a bit along the lash line too, and finished the look by curling her lashes and applying two coats of Smashbox Hyperlash Mascara in black to both top and bottom lashes.

3 Simple Steps To Washing Your Hair…

In hair, washing hair on May 17, 2010 at 3:57 pm

Properly washing your hair can literally transform your look.  Check out these three simple steps to follow…

1.  Detanglebefore you shampoo.  Hair is at it’s most fragile state when it is wet, so detangling in the shower may result in a lot more of your hairin the drain.  Detangling beforehand w help lessen those tangles.

2.  Shampoo & Condish.  Use about a quarter size amount of shampoo and massage it into your scalp.  Avoid applying the shampoo on the length of your hair, especially the ends.  Do not pile all of your hair on top of your head and rub…hellloooo…tangles!  Next Apply your conditioner.  Start applying at the ends, which are the driest, and work your way up.  No need to apply on your scalp,  which can cause greasy roots.

3.  Rinse.  Sounds simple right?  Well a lot of times we just stand under the running water for a few seconds and we’re done.  The proper way would be to seperate the hair and rinse thoroughly in sections.  Rinsing with cool water helps seal the cuticle and locks in that shine!

What are some methods you use when washing your hair?

Kardashian Glamour Tan…

In khloe kardashian, self tanning, sephora on May 14, 2010 at 2:12 pm

Kim, Kourtney and Khloe launched their new self-tanner yesterday at Sephora.  Kourtney talked a bit about it on her blog:

We are so exited about the launch of Kardashian Glamour Tan. It’s a colorless, odorless self-tanning gel that creates a gorgeous color in just a few hours! Khloe, Kim and I try to take care of our skin so it’s really important to us to be able to tan safely and this is the perfect way to do that. You don’t have to lay out in the sun for hours or hit the tanning salons to get a good tan… you can do it safely.

You know what, I’m not even mad at them….I’d milk my 15minutes for as long as I could too!

Spa Review: Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa

In facials, spa review on May 10, 2010 at 1:54 pm

Last month during Spa Week, my cousin, my aunt and I decided to book facials at Caudalie Spa in the Plaza Hotel.  We each got the 45 Min Caudalie Vinotherpie Spa Facial and I must say, it was one of the best facials I’ve ever had!…

Ambiance/Decor:  Ladies locker room was clean and provided plush, comfy robes along with Caudalie products on counters for use.  The waiting area is a spacious area with comfy lounge chairs, tables, fresh grapes, water and a wall of wine.  The treatment room itself was a small and lovely room with the treatment bed facing a large window overlooking a small garden-like area.  Don’t worry, it’s completely private and no one can see you in the room.  Loved the soothing earth tone color palette of the spa.  Overall ambiance was very nice, clean and relaxing!

Staff: Extremely friendly and professional.  We were immediately greeted upon entering the spa.  Staff was present in both the locker room and lounge to accommodate your needs.  A great experience with staff from beginning to end.

Service:  My technician was Big City Beauty’s Lia.  This was my first time meeting Lia and it was a wonderful experience.  During my facial, she explained everything she was doing and what products she would be using.  The facial included a cleansing, extractions, mask and a light massage.  I loved the feel and aroma of the products and the use of the clarisonic brush during my service.  Honestly, one of the best facials I have ever had. (Did I say that already?) My skin was glowing…daysssss after!

The Highs: Great ambiance, Friendly staff, Wonderful facial.

The Lows: The regular prices are very high.  Aside from that, I have no complaints!

Final Verdict: If money is not an issue, I would definitely recommend this spa.  I had a great experience and will be returning, maybe not as often as I would like though.  If the regular $185 price is a bit much, I would definitely mark my calender for October’s spa week and pray they will participate again!

* Sorry for the lack of pics, I actually forgot my camera in my bag in the locker room!
